Circular Economy

Thinking Circular Economy in our business

In our global sustainability strategy, we have the challenge to think how circular economy connects to our business. We want to move towards an apparel industry that uses and reuses safe materials, protecting ecosystems and providing dignified work for people. This means ‘products that are made with their next use in mind’ - where we no longer talk about ‘end of life’, but rather ‘end of use’. This is the philosophy of circular fashion.

C&A participates in the Avery Dennison’s Circular Program, managed by Boomera, a company that specializes in circular economy. The program consists of recycling three types of waste produced in the conversion and final use of self-adhesive labels: paper liner, film liner (polyester) and matrix waste. Thus we ensure this waste is appropriately disposed and reintroduced in other productive cycles. Once again, we play a leading role in engaging for circular economy. The participation in this program is in line with our Global Sustainability Framework and the Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (‘Brazil’s National Solid Waste Policy’).

Ciclos

When we love our clothes, they do not stay in the drawer or stand on the hanger

Choosing brand a new product is much more than wearing colored threads and fabrics, it is using fashion as a way of expression. Therefore, we are committed to creating clothing that goes far beyond an original outfit. We want you to move around aware that our products respect nature, the lives of countless people and the future of our planet.

Ciclos (Cycles) is the C&A products line that meets the most demanding sustainability standards in the world. Products thought and created intelligently, with more sustainable cotton and made with materials that preserve the soil and water.

In addition, all the pieces that carry the Ciclos label are the only ones in the whole country that have the guarantee of the certification from the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, a highly respected organization when it comes to innovation for the circular economy through products that generate positive impact for people and the planet.

No matter what the destination is, inside or outside your closet with Ciclos you are sure that your clothes can safely return to nature or become raw materials again. So, make this fashion circular and prove that choosing the right look can make much more than a good impression.

From yarn to yarn, from stitch to stitch we change the fashion and you change with us.

How can you bring new life to the product?

After you have used a product of the Ciclos line for long enough, give it another life by:

Donating it

You can donate your old clothing so it can be reused or provide humanitarian relief. There are several organizations in Brazil that receive used items.

Recycling it

This is another step in C&A's sustainability journey, offering its customers clothes that are safe enough to start a new cycle.

Movimento ReCiclo

We also have our clothing in-store take-back program, by which you can donate items you do not want anymore (of any brand, but they have to be clean). Movimento ReCiclo” is an initiative whose main goal is to offer an alternative for the disposal of used clothes, which will be sent for either reuse or recycling. Refer to the rules and find the Movimento ReCiclo’s collection boxes here.
