C&A: fashion with a positive impact

In 2015, C&A established its goals and challenges related to sustainability in a Global Framework developed by  Brazil, China, Europe and Mexico (the regions where the Company is present). Ever since, the framework has guided all the Company’s sustainability actions, enabling a more integrated operation, as the pillars and goals are the same worldwide.

Our Sustainability history

C&A was established in the Netherlands in 1841 and came to Brazil in 1976. Throughout its history, the Company has always invested in innovative projects, considering social and environmental impacts.

​​​In 2009, the Company established  the sustainability area in Brazil, which is responsible for supporting the business areas in including social and environmental factors in their strategies. One of this period’s greatest contributions was the Brazil Sustainability Framework, which was developed based on stakeholders’ inputs (customers, suppliers, sustainability experts and the internal public) in order to prioritize topics that are most  relevant in our value chain. 

In 2014, as part of the Company’s growth process worldwide, these topics were integrated to  the Global Sustainability Frameworklaunched in 2015, which has guided C&A’s efforts and investments in Brazil, Europe, Mexico and China ever since.​
